This is the summary statement from the 4th World Congress on Conservation Agriculture held in New Delhi, India, from 4-7 February 2009.The conference agreed on three key principles upon which Conservation agriculture should be based:
1. minimum mechanical disturbance of the soil
2. permanent organic cover of the soil surface, and
3. a diversified sequence or association of crops.
