Equipment:
CROSS SLOT®, double disc, hoe, power-till, punch planter no-tillage openers, and undisturbed soil
Conclusions:
Infiltration into the CROSS SLOT® no-tillage slot zone was at least 50% greater than all other openers tested.
Infiltration into the CROSS SLOT® no-tillage slot zone was 100% greater than the double disc opener slot zone.
Infiltration into the CROSS SLOT® no-tillage slot zone was 50% greater than bare soil that did not experience the passage of any opener.
In all cases the soil was covered with surface residues and contained earthworms
